The Prince's Trust Get into Retail course, run in partnership with employment and training provider Seetec and funded by The Swan Foundation will offer young people an insight into working in the retail industry. The aim of the course, which is targeted at unemployed 16-25-year-olds, is to help young people gain the skills and confidence they need to get a job.
During the four-week course, which will start in September 2011, participants will gain hands-on experience in the retail industry while developing vocational skills such as teamwork and communication skills. The course also teaches CV and interview techniques and young people will receive six months mentoring support after the course to help them into work or training.
Fiona Stubbs, who is managing the programme for Seetec, said: "The retail industry offers real diversity and working in retail is really exciting.
