Swan Foundation is proud to support NASSA in their mission to provide young people with the skills they need to succeed in sport and in life.
NASSA is a not for profit, independent organisation that exists to improve the chances and carer choices of young people in Newham and the surrounding areas. It was established as a charity in 2006, and has been very successful at training youngsters to be good at sports but also decent citizens.
We became involved in 2010 to help NASSA set up a base from which to manage its many teams, programmes and initiatives. With our support and that of other sponsors, the Academy now has office space in the Tate & Lyle factory in Silvertown and is looking to build on its success to date.
The Academy's stated aim is to: "...enable children to achieve excellence in their lives through the vehicle of sport by participating in, enjoying and learning through the sport of their choice."
We have seen that NASSA sets out alternatives to anti-social behaviour, through creating awareness of the opportunities that exist for young people. We want to encourage and support their passion. Watch the film to get a feel for NASSA.
