Did you know that the average Briton spends £500 each Christmas on gifts for their loved ones? This equates to a whopping £32,548,500,000 (yes you read correctly, that’s thirty two billion five hundred and forty eight million, five hundred thousand pounds). It seems nowhere else in the world do people love to spend as much over the festive holidays as us Brits, but what if I were to tell you that just by shopping you can help the Swan Foundation and it won’t cost you a penny? That’s right, you can help raise vital funds for us simply by changing the way you shop this Christmas.
All you have to do is sign up to Give as you Live, which is an online shopping portal/fundraising platform that works in partnership with 4,000+ leading online retailers and every time you make a purchase via the portal, the retailer donates a percentage of the purchase price to our charity.
Each retailer has an individual contract with Give as you Live and so the percentage ranges from 2.5%– 16%. So if all 400 of Swan’s staff sign up today and you do all of your Christmas shopping using this portal, then the amount we could raise (going by the average Briton’s spend) could be anywhere from £5,000 - £32,000. I’m sure you’ll agree that’s ‘snow’ laughing matter!
So how do you go about it? Just go to www.giveasyoulive.com and search for the Swan Foundation, fill in all your details and you’re good to go. Please join me in making this small adjustment in the way you shop.
For further details or if you just want more information, please feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to help.
